As you read this, I’m on my annual Halloweenish vacation. We aren’t camping this year, although we really tried to get a cabin or yurt somewhere, but nope… Just didn’t work out this year. Instead, I plan on doing some road trips, and having a good time with the wife and pups this week. So as you might guess, a lot of content on the site is being done in advance right now (that’s going to become a theme, actually).
You may have noticed that we haven’t been really up-to-date with much on the “Loot Mechanics” podcast or the blog last month, in fact, way less so than normal. There’s a good reason for that, actually: All of the Friday blog-posts in October were written in late September. Meanwhile, the first three episodes of LM for October were recorded at the start of the month, and the Halloween show plus the first two shows for November were recorded in a couple of weeks ago.
Why? Because this is going to be the Norm for a bit, actually.
We have entered into the Holiday Season, as far as I’m concerned, which lasts through the end of the year. As such, I have a lot more stuff going on at home and at work, which makes doing content in the moment just to be topical rather difficult. Luckily, Beoulus and I have gotten really good at coming up with bullshit to talk about, as needed, and hopefully keep it entertaining, if not informative. So my hope is to limit ourselves to only a few more podcast recording sessions for the remainder of the year, and to knock out most of the blog posts in advance, as best I can.
Of course, I can always drop a topical blog post in the moment, if something comes up that is absolutely in need of being discussed then. But the normal weekly posts are getting posted well in advance. For example… This post you are reading right now? Written in late September.
Yep.
Things are going along nicely when it comes to “Ronin Roleplaying”. The last game has started for this season, being “SteamCraft”, which is fun as heck. I think it was a great way to wind down the last two months of 2021, and leads nicely into Season 2, starting in January. There will be changes to the show in Season 2, which I’m rather excited about, but will let you find them out when we get there. But I should have the first few months worth of episodes in the can by the end of 2021, at the very least. I don’t want to get too far ahead, though, because I have a BUNCH of new TTRPGs scheduled to be coming from Kickstarter projects early in 2022, and would like to slot some of them into the schedule for the actual-play as soon as I can!
“Starforged”, I’m looking at you.
Anyway, now that the Spooky Season is behind us, I see a return to normal (at least whatever it is that passes for Normal around here) in the coming weeks. As always, if you have any thoughts on the content we’re presenting here, drop them in the Discord server! We’d love to hear from you!
