Scheduling Conflict?

So, here’s a thought: What if I moved my Livestreaming on Twitch from weekend nights to weekday days?

Yes, I know, I know… I’ve tried this before, briefly, and it really didn’t work out. That said, I also wasn’t really prepared for how the change might affect my sleep during the week. Also, I wasn’t really prepared for going from a decent number of viewers in the late night to early morning hours, to virtually no viewers at all.

I thought I was doing something wrong. But I wasn’t, I was just looking at things from the wrong perspective.

You see, numbers don’t matter in the long run. I’m not going to reach Partner status, so why worry about concurrent viewers? I’m already an Affiliate, so that’s all that matters to me. Also, I don’t need to stream for 6-8 hours each day, when I can do an hour or two, four to five days a week, and be just fine.

Another potential benefit of streaming most weekday mornings is that I might be able to get My Lovely Bride™, Tenknife, to join me on stream. Most likely she would just be in Chat, talking with everyone there, but that’s all she usually does, when she jumps on at night.

I’m thinking maybe 8-10 am Pacific time, maybe Tuesday through Saturday? I’d do Mon-Fri, but that conflicts with other obligations I have already.

Anyway, this is something I’m thinking about doing soon, at least soon-ish. I’m thinking that this change might be more sustainable in the long run, and allow me to relax more on my weekends, maybe spend more time then with my family. Which would be nice, since – due to recent health issues – is getting to be a whole lot more important to me.

So would this mean no more weekend night streaming? Well, maybe. I could certainly stream then, but I’d almost prefer not to, since I have other hobbies that I’ll be neglecting by streaming during the mornings, which I’d like to do overnights on weekends, instead. But I’m pretty sure this won’t be a huge problem, once people get used to the timeslot change. Some may follow me to the Morning show, others won’t, but hopefully will watch the VODs and Clips.

Basically, I don’t want to alienate my current viewers, but I also want to make streaming more viable for me in the upcoming months. My life will likely be changing a lot over the next few months to come, and I want things to be as easy as possible for Ten and I during this challenging time.

I’m sure the Brigade will understand. But then again, I’d love to hear what y’all have to say on this matter, in the Comments section, below.
