TL;DR Version: Keep an eye on this space.
Okay, here’s the thing: I’m not good at this. I’m not good at any of this. But here I am, persisting and all that, because I can, and that’s enough for me.
Does any of that make sense? Probably not, so allow me to explain.
I’ve been Internetting for a very long time. I was blogging before it was called Blogging. I was making gaming videos before YouTube was a Thing. I have made webcomics, run forums, and on and on and on. In short, I keep making Content, have for years, and I keep Remaking myself when it is necessary. Well, with my recent move from YouTube to Twitch for my video content, now is another moment when another Remake was not only called for, it was necessary.
Thus Scormey.com
While I have been using the name “Scormus” online since 2005, this is the first time I have thrown all of my content around that name, that character, and that personality. In the past I focused my content around an old character/persona “Shecky Whateley” (the defunct Starry-Wisdom.com, then Pthppt.com in various bits of content), and I have focused content around other concepts, but now it is all about Scormey. Thus the new site.
But what about my other venues? What about Pthppt.com (yes, still a Thing), and what about GamingStuff.website?
Well, I still plan to blog on Pthppt. It’ll be just stuff about Life, mostly when something comes up that I really feel a Need to rant about, so I will certainly keep that venue active. But Gaming Stuff is on its last legs, let’s be honest. It has had a year to gain traction with limited success, although the podcast there, “Pixels & Dice”, continues to do alright. So with my departure from YouTube focused content, and no one seemingly being able to accept that .website URLs are really a Thing (THEY ARE!), I will be rebuilding that site into the community site it was intended to originally be, with the Podcast remaining as the sole non-community feature there.
So what does that all mean for this site? Well, this will be where you find my video content, both the Live stuff from Twitch, and the replays uploaded to YouTube for long-term storage. This will also be where you find my gaming and other tech and internet-focused blogging. But this will be a lean, mean, Livestreaming-centric website, period. Nothing else is really necessary.
Anyway, that’s about it. Until next time, as always, I’ll see you in-game…
