So I have been playing “Starfield” since the very beginning, back in September of 2023. Yes, this was on my Xbox Series X, which I bought specifically to play “Starfield”, as it was a much cheaper option than buying or building a PC at that time. To be fair, the XSX is still a cheaper option than buying a PC, but I did just that earlier this year.
Anyway, I’ve been playing “Starfield” for the last few months on both my laptop and my XSX, sharing the saves, and generally enjoying myself immensely. That said, I’ve been considering doing something odd, considering it is mostly unnecessary:
I’m thinking of buying “Starfield” again, this time specifically on PC.
Why would I do this, when I’ve already got it on Xbox, and can thus share it on my laptop? Well, the laptop is quite a bit better than the Xbox, and can handle cranking up all of the settings, where of course they are limited on the XSX. Not a lot, of course, but enough to notice. Since I’m using “Starfield” for a lot of my YouTube content, I’m thinking that playing “Starfield” on a version specific to the PC might be a better option than what I’ve been doing.
Another reason is also rather weird: It would put more money in Bethesda’s pockets, as well as their modders. I would be buying the Premium edition, so I’d get both of the story DLCs as well as the main game and some other goodies. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve bought a game more than once, such as “No Man’s Sky” on both Steam and my Nintendo Switch. Or “Skyrim”. Or “The Witcher 3”.
I think you get my point.
I’m holding off on this idea for now, because this wouldn’t be a small purchase. Between the game and replacing the mods I would want to carry over onto Steam, this could add up to be a good chunk of change, so I’ll wait until I have some free cash lying around. But I’m fairly set on doing this, because “Starfield” is worth it, and so are its mods.
