… they pull me back in!
A few months back, I jumped back into “Lord of the Rings Online”, albeit rather briefly. I loaded it onto my old laptop I used for Livestreaming and playing various games, including LOTRO… It didn’t go well.
But I have a better laptop now, and I have to admit that the call to get back into an MMORPG has been rather strong, of late! And of all the various MMOs I used to play, I feel the biggest call to return to either LOTRO or “World of Warcraft”.
The latter would cost me money, while the former would be free. So I’m thinking I should load up on LOTRO.
Now here’s the thing: When I last played LOTRO a few months back, it wasn’t a great experience. But again, that was on a seven year old laptop, rocking an nVidia GTX 1070 video card. That was more than enough to play LOTRO back in the day, but now? Not so much. So I’m hoping that LOTRO will play extremely well on the RTX 5050 in my new laptop.
It should, but then again, LOTRO was always more about the processor in your rig, than the video card you had. But I have a pretty damn good processor, too, so…
The way I see it, if LOTRO doesn’t work well on my new laptop, then I am frankly done with it. I can always load up “Secret World Legends”, “Guild Wars 2”, or one of the several MMOs I have on my Xbox (“Star Trek Online”, “Neverwinter”, “Palia”, or “DC Universe Online”) to scratch the MMORPG itch.
Then again, “Starfield” has been acting as a fairly solid surrogate for MMO’s for the better part of three years now. Maybe I should just stick with it? We shall see.
