Yet Another “Starfield” Fluff Piece

So it’s been a couple of weeks since I posted about my favorite video game, “Starfield”, and you knew it had to be coming so… Surprise!

Anyway, as I’m sure you’re aware if you follow this website or my YouTube channel, I have been posting a weekly roleplaying series there as a playthrough of “Starfield”, and am having a great time with it. So much so that I finished all videos in this series through the end of 2026 by the end of May!

Yes, I’m aware of the sound issues. No, they won’t get fixed until November. It is what it is!

Now then, I’m playing the game again, after taking a break to assemble the “Avowed” and “Secret World Legends” videos. I’m actually playing these games on a rotation, switching off every weekend. “Starfield”, then “Avowed”, then SWL, then an assortment of different games for the Casual Sundays. In short, I am packing my YouTube channel chock full of video content, and frankly, I’m loving it!

The best part is, when things get too hot (it is summer, after all), or I just want to take a break, I head over to my recliner and fire up “Starfield” on my Xbox, and play a different character. I’m literally months and months ahead on all of my videos, so now I can just play whatever I want, whenever I want.

And I want to play “Starfield”. As always.

UPDATE (8/7/2026): I like to do things well in advance, so I wrote this article a couple of months early, because I could. So since then, things have changed a bit. First of all, the “Starfield” series continues, because of course it does…sort of. There was a technical hiccup at one point, and changes had to be made. But you won’t see that for a while to come.

We also continue to have content coming on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays (in addition to Wednesday’s :”Starfield” videos), but have since added in a series on Saturdays, as well, beginning the first week of January 2027. And by the time you read this, we should have all five of these video series done through all of 2027.

Yeah, it’s like that. It’s been hot this summer, but I have an air conditioner, and I’d rather be playing on my laptop and making videos every weekend than playing something on my Xbox while not making videos. At my current rate of content creation, I could be done with all of 2028 in a few months, even if I slow my pace some.

Now here’s the thing: Why am I pushing so much content, so much in advance? Why not just do daily videos instead focusing on one game (Starfield, of course)? What do I hope to gain from this?

  • I’m not trying to get content done years in advance, it is simply the result of playing a lot on the weekends and vacations, and if I’m playing, I’m making videos at the same time.
  • I considered switching from weekly videos for a handful of different games to playing one game with daily videos, but I really like playing more than one game. “Starfield” is still my favorite by far, but “Avowed” is great, and I enjoy “Secret World Legends” (as well as other games that have yet to be seen). So at least for now I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing.
  • As for what I might gain, that would be nothing but personal enjoyment. I’m having fun. Roleplaying while playing through these RPGs is my idea of a good time, especially since I don’t have a tabletop roleplaying group to play with anymore.
