So as you all may know, I’m a huge “Starfield” fan, as well as a fan of sci-fi video games in general. But I’ve been thinking a lot about this, and I think I have come up with a way to save “Starfield”!
Online play. Specifically… “Starfield Online”!
Now I’m not suggesting that Bethesda should drop everything and make a version of “Fallout 76” for “Starfield”… That would be silly, because “Fallout 76” sucks! But Xbox and Bethesda could work together to make an online version of “Starfield”, if they really wanted to. Hell, bring Zenimax into the team, with their experience behind “The Elder Scrolls Online”, and see what magic they can bring to bear!
But that’s not what we’re really here to talk about today, my friends. No, because – as much as I love “Starfield” – I think I’ve found the perfect game to scratch both that “Starfield” and online play itch.
Now, now… Hear me out. Yes, I’m aware that EVE is an older MMORPG. And I’m aware that it really isn’t known for its character-level exploration, or good storytelling, or even being fun. But boy does EVE Online have space combat and exploration! And you might even exceed 10 frames per second, depending on how powerful your computer is!
“But Scormey”, you say. “What about Xbox players? Won’t they be left behind?”
Well, Xbox seems to be doing a lot of that lately, leaving the Xbox fanbase in the lurch (and paying more for the experience), but who knows? Maybe Big Daddy Microsoft could buy CCP out, hand them over to Bethesda, and let the two teams work together to convert EVE Online into “Starfield Online” directly? It should only take a decade or so, right?
Sounds like a Win for all involved!
