First of all, let me say this: I’m glad that Evil Empire has picked up “Brotato” and are continuing development on the game. It would just be really nice if people who play the game on consoles or mobile actually, y’know, got these updates!
Yes, I am aware that Evil Empire is working with Seaven Studios to adapt these PC updates to Console (I don’t know if they are also working on the mobile version), and that “New Dawn” is expected to launch in Q1 (by the end of March) for Console, but that could of course change. Just look at the release of the “Abyssal Terrors” DLC?
It took over two years for that DLC to be released on the Nintendo Switch. It took a year to release on the Playstation and Xbox (if I recall correctly). Mobile is still waiting for the DLC. But we should rest assured that the next update “New Dawn” will be coming in the next six weeks or so?
Actually, we might get it by the end of March, considering that it would be about a year after it came out for PC. That would be basically the norm for Seaven Studios, anyway. Not to be rude, just saying it like it is.
But here’s my concern: What about the “Paws & Claws” update, which is currently (as of this writing) in beta for PC on Steam. Will we have to wait another year to see that update get launched on consoles? Because you would think that it would not take a damn year to update a game for console. I get it, these are indie developers, but I mean, seriously… WTF?
Aside from all of that, though, will the mobile players ever see any DLC or updates at all? They are paying customers I would assume, so shouldn’t they also enjoy DLC and updates to the game?
In the end, Evil Empire really needs to step up their development here. There is literally no reason that Console and Mobile players are having to wait so long for updates and DLC releases. I would suggest synchronous development between Evil Empire and Seaven, so that work done on the PC version can be coordinated and applied to the Console and perhaps even the Mobile versions at the same time, or at least shortly thereafter.
Watching Youtubers playing the “Paws & Claws” update when we haven’t even received the “New Dawn” update is frankly making me not want to play the game any longer, as an Xbox player. Just saying.
