So, I’m (obviously) out of the hospital, and have been for about a week now. My surgery went well, my doctors and nurses say I’m healing well, but it will still take months to get back to some form of normal. I will likely be able to go back to work before then, but still need to take it easy for a long while. Not a problem, since I work in an office.
Basically, I shouldn’t change out the water cooler tank, but otherwise, I’ll be okay in a month or so.
That all said, what about my activities on this website? What about the podcasts, the Livestreaming, or my videos on YouTube? Well…
I think I’m changing everything up.
Everything.
For example, I doubt I’ll be going back to Twitch, let alone YouTube. I really didn’t realize just how much they took out of me, until I set them aside, and felt way better!… and that was before my surgery! Now that I am recovering from open heart surgery, while I want to dip my toe back into Twitch, just to say “Hello” to my viewers, and have a laugh or two, I know I’m just not up to it. Honestly, I don’t know when or if I’ll be up to that sort of activity again.
Now then, let’s talk podcasts. We have “Knights of the Tabletop” recorded through October, and I really wanted to record shows for the rest of 2020 at the very least, but that won’t be happening now. It is way too much work on me, way too stressful, and simply not worth it anymore. Also, we had a bit of a meltdown when finishing the last show for October, and that told me it was time to walk away.
So I am. Out of respect for my friends in KOTT, I’m leaving the shows up, but that will be the end of it, once the October shows are done.
Now we come to “Pixels & Dice”. That’s a fine podcast, but I’m just not happy with it. I feel you as an audience deserve better, so I don’t plan to bring it back, now that our ‘hiatus’ has begun. I want to discuss the podcast with my co-host Beoulus, and decide where we want to go from here.
Anyway, that leaves me in a bit of a pickle. With the podcasts on hiatus or winding down, no Twitch, and no YouTube, what should you expect from this website? Well, I’m stuck at home, so I’m going to try to dive into blogging more.
Yay.
No, seriously. I am going to try to blog more, to provide some more content on the website, as best I can. Blogging is easy, at least a hell of a lot easier than podcasting, livestreaming, or other content creation. I’m setting myself a goal of doing two blog posts a week, starting next week, but hope to do more than that.
I am also considering – note considering – creating a weekly solo podcast again, because that is way easier to do than working with a co-host. Nothing against any of the co-hosts I’ve worked with on P&D or KOTT, but this is simply the truth. They are awesome, and add a lot to the shows they are on, but right now I’m looking to make content that is simply easy to make.
Working on a solo show like “Roleplay Domain” was is just that: Easy. Considering my current health situation, easy is what I need right now.
I’m not sure if this will be a weekly show, or what it will be about, let alone if it will even happen. Like I said, I’m just considering this idea atthis point.
Anyway, to close, expect more blog posts around here for now. Beyond that, we’ll discuss that at a later date.
