So, about the Discord server…

As you may or may not be aware, I have set up a Discord server for the use of this community. There are multiple voice chat channels available, including one that will allow up to four others to voice chat along with me during the Livestreams. If you want to make use of this server, just click the link on the right side of the page, and follow the prompts to get set up. You don’t even need a microphone to use Discord, it has text-chat capabilities, as well (which are rather handy, if you log in and can’t speak/hear in one of the voice-chat channels, BTW).

Anyway, so we have this Discord server. I hope you enjoy it, and if you have any suggestions for new channels you’d like to see added, just let me know. But that’s not what we’re here to talk about.

We’re here to talk about manners.

You see, I want to build a strong, friendly community around my shows and this website, but in order to do that, we have to be a bit strict when it comes to bad behavior. So with that in mind, I have to lay down some ground rules for use of the Discord server, especially when using the Livestream channel.

  1. Be polite.
  2. No swearing
  3. Hate speech of any sort will not be tolerated.
  4. No Trolling, Doxxing, or otherwise being an Internet Jerk

Remember: There is no Freedom of Speech here. My Server, My Show, My Rules.

I hate to be this way, but it has been suggested by some that it might be funny to come into the Livestream channel and extoll the virtues of Hitler, among other things, to see how I responded. Let me be perfectly clear about this: I am a fairly tolerant person, and I want people to enjoy themselves on this site, the Discord server, and when watching the shows I do, but I will not tolerate any sort of racist, misogynistic, or abusive speech or chat, whether it is on my show or not.

Sorry folks, but this isn’t a Democracy.
